Well hello everyone! My name is Stephanie and Balance Bath Company is my shop.
People ask me all the time how Balance Bath Company came to be. It’s quite simple really. It all started with my son when he was just little. He was allergic to just about every soap, detergent and ointment out there. He was even allergic to fresh cut grass clippings! Leaving a very itchy and painful existence for him. Being a concerned mother, creative genius and business woman the idea was born and my research began.
Then, in 2014 I was involved in an accident that forever changed my life. I had never planned on making my soaps to sell them. I had only ever given them out as gifts to family and friends. As time passed, orders for my soaps grew and with life forever changed from my accident, I took the leap. There was obviously a growing demand and I jumped in to fulfill it.
Fast forward to 2018. Branching out from online sales to attending events this year, was a decision not made lightly. We were determined to reach out to our customers and the community to make that personal connection. I love being able to answer peoples questions in person. I can’t express how much the support from our customers, fellow artisans and makers, means to me. I have always been a huge supporter of the handmade community. I am very fortunate to have a husband who supports my dreams and to be Mom to two teenage boys. My son Cole helps out with every aspect of our business from formulating recipes, to testing, right through to events.
A little bit about our product and process. We make all of our soaps using the traditional cold process method. Our soaps are made using only top shelf oils and organic butters. Through listening to our customers needs and wishes, we developed a natural soap line which contains only essential oils and natural colourants. We also offer a fun line of soaps which may contain: fragrance oils, micas, additives & decorative embellishments. All of our soaps are Paraben, SLS and Phthalate free, biodegradable and vegan.
We also offer: classes teaching soap making, birthday party packages/ladies night in/team building. We provide information sessions for the business side of soap making. My business continues to evolve and has been shaped by my customers, and my personal, needs.
Our studio is located in Bowmanville, Ontario. You can purchase from Balance Bath Company either through our website or at various pop-up markets in person.
